Aquaculture-Wild Interactions

Note- this study was originally proposed in the 2009 proposal for the Strait of Georgia program.

This project will address concerns about salmon aquaculture in the northern Strait of Georgia and lower Johnstone Strait. The focus of this research has been on Fraser River sockeye salmon and Seymour steelhead exposure to open-net pen salmon farms during their emigration from the Strait of Georgia. This work has been partially funded by the BC Salmon Farmers Association; results to date are provided in the Juvenile Salmon section (Bottom Up studies).
